Gemini Simplified Interface (G.SI) for Guided Picking
G.SI for Guided Picking extends the functionality of Oracle by allowing rules to determine the order and location of items picked from inventory to fulfill an order. This functionality can be used in combination with the Gemini Simplified Interface Suite (G.SI) to direct workers to the proper inventory locations based on a configurable rules engine. Guided Picking dramatically increases the efficiency and accuracy of picking and shipping processes
Features
Guided Picking was designed with several key features:
- Customization without coding
Guided Picking removes the need to customize code to configure rules for picking. The business user can define rules using the Picking Rules Configurator. There is no need to change programs, for changes in warehouse configuration or changes needed for picking efficiency.
- Ease of Use
Guided Picking has been designed for business users and not programmers. It enables the business users to configure the system without assistance from technical team members.
- Seamless Integration to Oracle
Guided Picking has been designed with seamless integration to Oracle Applications as a key factor. It does not duplicate data and uses the pick release and inventory reservation functionality available in standard Oracle Applications.
Components
Guided Picking is designed to let the user choose the subinventory and locator from which the items should be picked, based on configurable rules. It consists of the following components:
The Pick Release and Reserve Module will pick release the trip or delivery, reserve inventory based on the picking rules defined in the Picking Rules Configurator and print the pick slip report based on the reservations created.
Rules can be defined based on preferred inventory locations, whether the unit of measure is a pallet or loose items, or other user criteria.
