Gemini for Oracle – FAQ
Before downloading Gemini, we recommend you consult your Oracle database administrator (DBA) to verify that you have:
- Oracle® database version 8.0 or later, and that your implementation is JDBC-compliant
- Oracle E-Business Suite (also known as Oracle Applications) version 11.5.10
- You have at least 100MB of free disk space. Additional space may be required to complete the installation.
The Trial Version does not include the following specialized Gemini modules: Gemini for OPM, Gemini Advanced Shipping, Gemini Inventory LPN, and Gemini Advanced Inventory. In addition, the Full Version provides additional features, such as the ability to print labels, and to prompt for additional information using descriptive flexfields (DFFs), project and task, and additional languages. The Full Version also includes additional transactions, including Project Issue and Project Receipt, Quality, System Administration, and Fixed Assets.
First, before downloading Gemini, your DBA should verify that you are running a JDBC-compliant implementation of Oracle database version 8.0 or later, and that you’re running Oracle E-Business Suite (Oracle Applications) version 11.5.
Then, when you receive the email from TAKE Supply Chain with the two files necessary to complete your installation (see Can I install Gemini immediately after I download it?), you will need to email one of these (a script) to your DBA and ask him or her to run the script in a test or development database instance used with Oracle applications. Your DBA should send you a file named DBConnections.txt when the database setup is complete. You may then install Gemini.
